About me
Paola Cobb, PA-C, is a board-certified physician assistant practicing in breast and plastic surgery at MedStar Montgomery Medical Center, working under the supervision of Dr. Son and Dr. Jabbour. PA Cobb is a breast expert who sees patients for the full scope of benign and malignant breast-related conditions, including breast pain, rashes, nipple discharge, skin conditions, abnormal mammograms, and breast cancer.
PA Cobb performs breast examinations, in-office abscess drainage, and skin punch biopsies. She also reviews pathology, imaging, and lab results with patients seeking consultations or second opinions. Additionally, she monitors patients who are at high risk for breast cancer and conducts surveillance for breast cancer survivors. She serves as a First Assistant during mastectomies, lumpectomies, and reconstruction surgeries, supporting patients with ongoing post-operative care.
Her clinical interests include breast cancer screening and prevention, especially for women. She is passionate about expanding access to preventive care and education, including teaching patients how to conduct self-breast examinations, as well as the importance of prevention, and when to seek medical evaluation.
PA Cobb earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Towson University and went on to earn her Master’s of Physician Assistant Studies degree from King’s College. She is an active member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons.
Before joining MedStar Health, PA Cobb worked in general surgery and family practice, as well as for five years at the Frederick Health Breast Center. She is highly experienced and committed to furthering her expertise by completing additional certifications and training.
PA Cobb is fluent in Spanish, and when she is not caring for patients, she enjoys spending time with her family and being outdoors.
Philosophy of Care
“I am a strong advocate for patients and their care, especially for women and underserved populations. In particular, I am passionate about improving outcomes for racial minorities who face barriers to education and proper care. I hope that patients walk out of my office confident that they have received the best breast examination and that all their concerns have been addressed. My ultimate goal is to give all my patients peace of mind and ensure that they get the adequate tests, treatments, or support that they need.”
